OBTAINING THE ISO 9001. IN JUNE 2007, Celulose Irani obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification. This new achievement reflects the company’s ethical and responsible posture in its quest to meet client expectations with quality and innovation.
CELULOSE IRANI WAS THE FIRST COMPANY in its sector to obtain the Greenhouse gas Inventory certification. In other words, it removed more carbon from the atmosphere than it released due to the large volume of forests planted and energy generated by the company itself through its hydroelectric and thermoelectric power plants. One year earlier, the company had celebrated another important achievement: it became the first Brazilian company in the sector and the second in the world to receive carbon credits issued by the Kyoto Protocol.
